The settlement of Bergsfjord lies on the northern coast of the peninsula of Loppa, right next to the settlements of Sør-Tverrfjord and Sandland, which are very famous among fishermen. From a fishing point of view, Bergsfjord is a very attractive locality. The waters in the surroundings offer the best posts for catching trophy fish. Besides fishing, at Bergsfjord you can make a large number of trips to the surrounding country. The local mountains, lakes and glaciers are ideal for both short walks and exacting hikes. Bergsfjord is a small village situated in a splendid country, which has not been hit by tourism yet, and has a permanent population of about 70. In the village you can find a well-stocked shop with a petrol station. Bergsfjord is joined to the mainland by way of a ferry, which goes from the town of Øksfjord every day, except Saturdays (the travel lasts one hour and forty minutes).
